Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-05-27
Welcome to BagLog ("the App", "we", "us"). The App is operated from Germany by Thomas Eichinger, Lindenstraße 12, 84332 Hebertsfelden, Germany ("Operator") under German and EU law and is available to users worldwide. By creating an account or using the App you agree to these Terms.
1. Who can use BagLog
- You confirm that you are at least 18 years old when you create your account. We use your date of birth as a self-declaration; we do not perform identity or background verification.
- You must provide a valid email and verify it before chatting or using the trade marketplace.
- One account per person. You are responsible for activity on your account and for keeping your password safe.
2. What BagLog is
BagLog is a personal backpack inventory tool with an optional peer-to-peer trade marketplace and in-app chat. BagLog is a platform only: we do not buy, sell, ship, store, hold funds for, insure, or otherwise take part in trades between users. All trades are between users directly and at their own risk.
2a. Approximate location only
BagLog uses approximate, area-based location for marketplace visibility. Coordinates are rounded to roughly 1 km before being stored, and only your closest city (within about 15 km) is shown to other users. Exact live GPS coordinates are never shown to other users and are not tracked in real time.
3. No payments handled in-app
BagLog does not process payments. We are not a payment institution and we are not a party to any transaction. Any value exchanged is arranged and handled by users outside the App.
4. Your content
You keep ownership of the photos, descriptions, and messages you post ("Your Content"). You grant BagLog a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, transmit, display, and back up Your Content solely to operate the App for you and the people you share it with.
You warrant that Your Content does not infringe anyone else's rights and is lawful to upload.
5. Prohibited items and behaviour
You must not list, offer, request, or chat about:
- Weapons, ammunition, explosives, or items designed to harm.
- Drugs, prescription medication, tobacco, alcohol, vapes.
- Hazardous, flammable, radioactive, or toxic materials.
- Live animals, animal parts, or anything from protected species.
- Counterfeit goods, stolen goods, or anything you don't have the right to sell.
- Sexual content, content sexualising minors, or any content involving anyone under 18.
- Personal data of other people, financial accounts, government IDs.
You also must not:
- Harass, threaten, dox, stalk, scam, spam, or impersonate other users.
- Pressure contacts off-platform or attempt to bypass safety features (blocks, reports, the 3-message intro limit).
- Create new accounts to evade suspensions, bans, blocks, or other safety restrictions.
- Attempt to determine another user's exact location, accommodation, travel route, or real-world identity without their consent.
- Use the reporting tools dishonestly. False, malicious, or abusive reports may themselves result in account action.
6. Safety
Trades happen in the real world. Use the in-app chat, meet only in public daytime places, do not share your home address, and read our Safety Guide. You are responsible for your own safety. The Operator is not liable for damages or losses arising from in-person meetings between users.
7. Reports, moderation, and termination
You can report or block any user from inside the App. We may remove content, suspend, or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the Community Guidelines, with or without notice. We may also cooperate with law enforcement where required by law.
Automated systems may pre-filter or warn, but important moderation actions — in particular suspensions and permanent removals — are reviewed by a person before becoming permanent.
8. Account deletion
You can delete your account from Profile → Delete account, or by emailing contact@baglog.space. Deletion removes your profile, items, photos, and messages from the live database within 30 days. We may retain a minimum of reports, moderation history, blocked-content evidence, and related account identifiers after deletion where reasonably necessary for legal compliance, fraud prevention, or user safety (typically up to 24 months). See the Privacy Policy for backup retention.
9. Disclaimers
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator is not liable for: (a) the conduct, content, or items of other users; (b) loss, damage, theft, injury, or dispute arising from any trade or meeting; (c) interruptions, data loss, or unauthorised access not caused by the Operator's gross negligence.
- BagLog does not perform background checks, identity verification, or screening of users.
- BagLog does not verify ownership, authenticity, legality, condition, safety, or quality of listed items.
- We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation of the App.
- BagLog is not an emergency or law-enforcement service. In immediate danger, contact your local emergency services.
- Currency conversion is provided for convenience only. Exchange rates come from third-party data sources, may be delayed, rounded, or inaccurate, and are not guaranteed to match any bank, card issuer, or money-changer rate. BagLog accepts no liability for any decision, transaction, loss, or damage based on currency conversions shown in the App. Always verify rates with your bank or payment provider before relying on them.
Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law (including the EU consumer rights you have where applicable, e.g. §§ 309, 475 BGB).
10. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will notify you in-app of material changes. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
11. Governing law and jurisdiction
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany, without prejudice to mandatory consumer-protection rules of the user's country of residence (Rome I, Art. 6). Exclusive place of jurisdiction for merchants is Landshut, Germany (the operator's seat). Consumers may also bring proceedings at the courts of their place of residence.
12. Consumer dispute resolution (§36 VSBG)
The European Commission provides an online dispute resolution platform: ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. We are not willing or obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board (Verbraucherschlichtungsstelle).
13. Contact
Questions about these Terms: contact@baglog.space. This English version is the authoritative version of the Terms; a German translation can be provided on request.
